Team Lotus, Lotus Grand Prix, Malaysia Air Asia Ensign ????
Whatever their name will be, and hopefully a name change won’t affect the financial backing they have been acquiring. The Lotus team, were the best new team on the grid, they got reliability sorted early and always seemed to have the speed on the others especially in qualifying. To go with two veterans in the cockpit was the smart way to go, and luckily they had the cash to not have to have a pay to drive pilot.
This team was set up with serious intensions, and I think Tony Fernandes can make it work.
Heikki Kovalainen
Good to be a big fish in a small pond sometimes, and Heikki made the most of it. From being a lowly no.2 at McLaren getting Hamilton’s hand me downs, he seemed as happy and positive as anyone could be at the back end of the grid. He showed signs of good speed at Renault and I think he’s got some of that confidence back. I was hoping he could find a way to grab a point, but it just wasn’t in the cards this year.
But I’m ready to put some money on couple of scores next year
Go! Heikki! Go!

Jarno Trulli
Jarno can be fast on any one lap, but in the races he just seems to lose something, this leads me to believe he has a tendency to make those small mistakes that add up over a long distance. Not as cheerful or as mentally strong as his team mate, he seemed more like a guy who brought a girl to a party but couldn’t stop looking around for a better option, and if he did he’d be gone. Jarno’s been around a while and all the teams on the grid know him well so I don’t see anyone throwing him into a top flight car again. Once upon a time he looked like a potential champion, but you’ve got to get in the right car at the right time, and he didn’t. He’s a very good driver no doubt, and should still have a long career in other racing disciplines, but I’m afraid Mr Trulli, your time is up.
