Toro Rosso to stay with the evil it knows (its current drivers)

Toro Rosso will keep its current driver line-up next season.

I suppose I could end this post there. But here’s team boss Franz Tost:

“Our drivers still lack F1 experience to the majority of their colleagues.

“I believe our drivers will be well prepared for 2011, which is why they are both confirmed for next year.”

Don’t get too enthusiastic there, Franz.

All kidding aside, are there any better prospects for the team? The car occasionally shows some speed, but never enough to lure a top-level talent.

The news does strike me as a step away from Toro Rosso being the B-team/driver development spot for Red Bull, however. That could in part be because Red Bull doesn’t need a new driver anytime soon. Sebastian Vettel isn’t going anywhere and if Mark Webber were to leave, the team has Kimi Raikkonen in the WRC wings.
