Place this in the “bad news” section. Apparently John Howett of Toyota F1 has announced they will be laying off up to 150 people. This is not shocking as the car industry is taking a bath financially and only lends credence on how important it is for Toyota to not only do well this year but win a race. I sense Toyota’s patience, along with Renault’s, may be wearing thin.
“I estimate that by the end of the year we will have around 100 to 150 fewer workers compared to the beginning of the year,” Howett is quoted as saying.
