Can you spoil something that hasn’t even happened and may never happen?

Now that Ben Collins has outed himself as The Stig on Top Gear, the fall-out is happening. Apparently Jeremy Clarkson is ticked off and considers Collins’ sacked. The details are in various places around the Interwebs but Wikipedia has the quickest rundown.
But Collins is old news. The new news? Who replaces him.
And two F1 names are at the top of the bookmaker books. (Yes, the British will in fact bet on anything.)
So, ladies and gentlemen, your next Stig could be…
Anthony Davidson or Heikki Kovalainen.
Heikki supposedly drove the Renault F1 car when it was on the show years ago. And AntDav has BBC ties already.
Either one makes sense. But my question is: Is there someone who’d be even better as “The Stig”?
Of course. And I’ll be the first to say it: Paul Charsley.
