FIA presidential candidate Ari Vatanen has announced his selection for senate members this week. The list is an impressive and distinguished collection of people that compliment the character and integrity of the Vatanen candidacy.
Robert Darbelnet of the American Automobile Association, Beaulah Schoeman of Motorsport South Africa, Setsuo Tanaka from the Japan Automobile Federation, Guido van Woerkom of the Royal Dutch Touring Club ANWB in The Netherlands and Eduardo Silva Araya of the Automobile Club of Chile.
As management theory goes, the best managers are those who surround themselves with the best people. Not just “yes†men but “no†men as well. It has been a hallmark of Mr. Vatanen’s cabinet and senate selection process to date and while vetting these candidates, I would be remiss to not suggest that they represent some of the finest minds in the motoring and motorsport industry. We would urge you to research Mr. Vatanen’s selections and discover for yourself just how effective these individuals have been in their own careers and juxtapose that with what you feel they can bring to a Vatanen presidency.
Mr. Vatanen said of his selection:
“Once again, some impressive representatives from high-quality motoring and motorsport clubs have expressed their faith in our mission and have given us the honour of their support.
“Together with Fernando Falco, candidate for President of the Senate and the two candidates for Deputy President, Bernard Tay and Hermann Tomczyk, this is a good mix of people from bigger and smaller clubs with the necessary experience, from motoring and motorsport organisations, and a good balance between the various regions.
“I am particularly happy that the African continent, where the mobility plays crucial role in the eradication of poverty, is being represented by a lady, Beulah Schoeman from South Africa, who has a lot of experience in many different areas. Africa has been a high school of life for me – it did not leave me indifferent.”
The focus, integrity, nuance, detail and direction of this candidacy is shaping up to be a daunting adversary for the Jean Todt campaign. F1B hopes to have more information soon from the Vatanen campaign and will share that information as we receive it.
