Max Verstappen has taken pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix. The wet/dry/wet session offered a real challenge and upset the typical running order leaving Haas F1’s Nico Hulkenberg in P2 followed by Aston MArtin’s Fernando Alonso.
Ferrari looked quick all weekend but Charles Leclerc couldn’t make it to Q3 and Carlos Sainz is facing a possible penalty for impeding others. A big tactical move from Williams who made the right call to put Alex Albon on Sift tires in Q2 and this launched him to P10 for Sunday’s start.
