Max Verstappen was looking for redemption after a poor Singapore GP result and he found it on Saturday in Japan by crushing the opposition to take pole by over 5/10’s of a second. It was the largest pole delta since Michael Schumacher in 2004 in Japan.
The Mclaren’s were in rare form with Oscar Piastri besting teammate Lando Norris for 2nd and 3rd for Sunday’s race.
