Vettel dominant in Japan

Red Bull’s Sebatian Vettel has won the Japanese Grand Prix in dominant style while his teammate Mark Webber struggled to stay out of the pits all day. The drive of the race could certainly be given to Vettel as he lead all the laps and didn’t place a wheel wrong but an argument could be made that Jarno Trulli also had a terrific day.

Trulli’s Toyota finished in 2nd place, which equals last weeks finish for the team, by passing McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton who finished 3rd. Trulli’s teammate, Timo Glock, did not race due to a leg injury sustained during qualifying that left the race with only one Toyota competing. A much needed result for a team struggling to find relevance in F1.

McLaren’s Hamilton struggled with a KERS issue and lost 2nd place to Trulli while his teammate struggled the entire race and even collided with Adrian Sutil. The race looked doomed for the Brawn GP teammates Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button but they turned their luck around with good pace and some luck to finish 7th and 8th respectively.

Points leader Jenson Button claimed another important point but the result ensured that the title chase will now go to Brazil. Red Bull’s dominant performance today brings Vettel only 16 points back from Button and with two races left and results from drivers like Trulli and Hamilton could infuse another dynamic to championship byt taking valuable points.
