Okay, let’s give Michael the benefit of the doubt here. I believe what he meant is that the drivers are approaching the tires very cautiously. The old idiom is that you are walking on egg shells meaning you are being very careful not to break the eggs. How it actually comes across is a little…can I say Raw? That’s my take but then maybe there is a literal meaning of raw eggs in German slang that I’m missing and what he actually means is that they are indeed like driving on raw eggs. What do I know, I’m not a 7-time world champion driving for MErcedes and far be it from me to put words in Michael’s mouth.
