Want to meet Steve Matchett, Leigh Diffey & David Hobbs? Here’s your chance

As an avid follower of Formula 1, I was in Austin for the US Grand Prix and had a chance to stop by and say hello to my friends at NBC Sports between broadcasts.

I wish all of you could have been with me to chat with Leigh Diffey, Steve Matchett and David Hobbs because you would have loved the conversation, insight, opinions and humor all three posses. You would have gotten to see a side of the professional broadcast team that the viewers do not get to see. It’s a real honor for me to call them friends and to have access to them and really get to see, first hand, their passion and love of motorsport and Formula 1. These guys are incredibly insightful, know the sport inside and out and are terrific guys as well as hilarious conversationalists. They are accomplished professionals in every sense of the word.

Actually, come to think about it, you CAN experience what I do each time I visit the NBC crew.

If you are anywhere near Ridgefield Connecticut, this is your chance to experience a completely different view of the NBC broadcast team. The three amigos will be hosting a very special evening discussing F1. Here are the details:

Join Diffey, Matchett and Hobbs at The Ridgefield Playhouse as they come right off of the heels of the last F1 weekend for a multimedia event, including behind the scenes footage!

Now that’s cool. I do year-end reviews each season for many of the car clubs here in the midwest but trust me, you’ll want to see these guys instead so make plans to get to the event. I’ve spoken to many of you and you all tell me how much you wish you could spend some time with Matchett, Diffey or Hobbs…well, here’s your chance my friends. Now is the time to actually engage with the NBC broadcast team and experience what I do when I spend time with them. It’s a definite to-do on your list!

Ok . . . this is something that needs to be streamed live for those of us that cannot make the event in person. At the very least, have it recorded and posted on YouTube.

Count me among those who would pay $5 or so, maybe a little more, for a stream or upload.

Hold on, aren’t you the one who’s always complaining about their commentary every other race…?

The guys are great. What I struggle with is the broadcast package which they have no control over. The amount of commercials etc. Leigh, Steve and David are terrific.
