Australian Will Power will race in five more events for the Penske team starting in Toronto. Sitting in for the legally embattled Helio Castroneves showed most Indycar fans that Will is a talented driver deserving of a seat. His pole and third place finish at Long beach coupled with his fifth place finish in the Indy 500 has certainly prompted Penske to find a ride for the young man.
“Will has done a terrific job for Penske Racing and he has earned the opportunity to compete in more races,” said Roger Penske. “Will is a great asset to the team.”
Good for Will. There are drivers in that beleaguered series that far less deserving and having Penske behind his efforts might pay off in spades.
