Williams revealed its 2025 F1 car today at Silverstone and there is a lot to look at with Atlassian as their sponsor.
Entering his third year at Williams, James Vowles has had a lot of work to do and he’s trying to do it on a budget that is somewhat south of the top teams. This year, curing the instability issues of the FW46 of last year will be key amongst them.
The Williams FW46 looked better late in the season and perhaps that’s a good baseline to start from. James wanted to improve the aerodynamics and bodywork capacity at Williams and perhaps they done so with the new FW47.
Things I see are a flatter nose, new front wing design, a push-rod rear suspension and sided design with broad shoulders and a higher elevation. The car looks more curved or tailored for its critical components inside and no doubt all intended to control the flow of air to the rear wing.
Let’s hope Williams take a significant step forward this year in their performance and tire management.
