Ferrari were penalized for what the stewards felt was a violation when Felipe Massa slowed and Fernando Alonso passed in the waning laps of the race. The report is:

The Stewards, having received a report from the Race Director, have considered the following matter, determine a
breach of the regulations has been committed by the competitor named below and impose the penalty referred to.

Team Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro

Offence: Breach of the Article 39.1 of the FIA 2010 Sporting Regulations and of Article 151.c) of
the 2010 FIA International Sporting Code.

Penalty: Fine $100,000. The case will also be referred to the FIA World Motorsport Council for
further consideration.

The World Motorsport Council will convene to discuss the incident further. What should be their verdict? What do you think the WMSC should do? Share your thoughts below with decorum and civility please.

I can tell you what Lotus Racing’s Mike Gascoyne thinks. He said the fine was the right call and via Twitter said:

@MikeGascoyne: If I was the WMSC I would take away team points and leave the drivers points. They just did what they were told to do after all
