As we head into the European portion of the Formula 1 season, a lot of the talk remains at the front end of the grid. How fast is McLaren? Will Ferrari’s engine revamp solve its reliability problems? Can anyone challenge Red Bull?
[Note, I don’t include Michael Schumacher among the “front end of the grid” talk.]
But I want to turn your attention a little farther back. I guess at least to Vitaly Petrov.
Our rookies — Petrov, Karun Chandhok, Bruno Senna, Nico Hulkenberg and Kamui Kobayashi — all should have a little sense of their cars by now. And we’re running into tracks they should be familiar with, from one series or another.
In other words: Their time to shine is nigh*.
And so, before any more races go by, we have today’s Your View:
Which rookie will have the best finish in a grand prix this year?
* I wonder, if that the first use of the word “nigh” here at F1B?
