What is it about the U.S.G.P. and small fields? As F1’s numbers dwindle, the F1B staff’s love for all things Mercedes and Maldonado continue to give us hope for the future. The Silver Arrows duo, as per usual, get all eleven picks for the win, this time with Rosberg only taking two nods to Hamilton’s nine. Tony and Dave are the only one’s brave or unsmart enough (stupid is such a harsh word, so I’d rather just make up a new one) to choose the German over the Brit. Dave is even going so far as to take Bottas to finish second ahead of LewHam on the Austin podium. And you’re not going to believe this, but five staffers have picked Pastor Maldonado as First Out. I know, crazy, right?
JEV and Massa get two picks apiece, while Sutil gets a single taker by way of championship leader J.P. Dave continues his ‘off the beaten path’ picks with what could be a first in the three year history of the F1B Staff Championship, as he is predicting that all participants will finish the race. If that does indeed happen, he gets my vote to pick up those two extra points for First Out anyway!
