#F1Chat Preview – the Brazilian GP

That’s it folks, that’s a wrap. The curtains have closed on the 2013 season and we have a new triple world champion. While it was Jenson Button who won a chaotic Brazilian Grand Prix, it was Sebastian Vettel who held his nerve to finish 6th and take his third world championship in a row. As you can imagine, we have a lot to discuss on tomorrow’s #F1Chat, so without further ado, here’s what’s coming up…

So what did you make of the race? We’ve been treated to some great races recently, did this one live up to your expectations as well?

Vettel’s race, and championship, was going backwards on lap one after he span following contact with Senna – what did you make of the first lap dramas? As Vettel made his way back through the pack it looked like he overtook Kobayashi under yellow flags. The incident wasn’t investigated and after the race it was reported that it was a yellow and red flag indicating a slippery surface, not waved yellows – what did you make of all of this?

Nico Hulkenberg led his first laps of an F1 race after taking the lead from Button early in the race, but it wasn’t for long as Hamilton took  the lead once again later on. But as Hamilton lapped traffic, Hulkenberg was able to catch up with him and the two made contact into turn one – what did you make of this incident? Did you agree with the drive-through penalty the stewards handed Hulkenberg? Do you think the backmarkers, in particular Kovalainen, had a part to play? This meant Hamilton retired from his last race for McLaren.

Hamilton’s retirement and Hulkenberg’s penalty gave 3rd to Alonso, who eventually took 2nd from teammate Massa. What did you make of Alonso’s race? Do you think he should have capitalised on Vettel’s bad luck? Or do you think Vettel was just too lucky in the end? What did you make of Massa’s race?

Let’s talk about the race winner. What were your thoughts on Button’s race? What did you think about his, and Hulkenberg’s tyre choices early in the race when everyone else pitted for inters and they stayed on options? Massa also did this at the end of the race…

That’s the serious stuff out of the way, but we can’t move on to other news until we’ve mentioned Kimi Raikkonen. Would you say his trip off track was the funny moment of the season?

Before we go any further, who was your driver of the day? Overtake of the race?

Caterham’s 11th place with Vitaly Petrov puts them 10th overall in the constructors’ standings. Thoughts on this? Do you think this will help Kovalainen to retain his seat at Caterham next year? What are your thoughts on Charles Pic’s multi-year deal with the team? Esteban Gutierrez has been confirmed at Sauber alongside Hulkenberg – thoughts on this? What about those who are still without a seat in 2013?

Finally, just what are you going to do now that the season is over? Make sure you continue to join us every Monday for your weekly F1 fix, as #F1Chat is going nowhere – starting with our season review on 3rd December.

But before all of that, block out a couple (yes a couple) of hours in your diary and join us tomorrow at the usual time of 4pm Eastern US, 9pm UK, using the #F1Chat hashtag to discuss the Brazilian Grand Prix. We look forward to chatting very soon.
