#F1Chat Preview – the German GP

Another race weekend and another Mercedes win, with Nico Rosberg winning his home race in Germany, and Lewis Hamilton racing through the field from 20th to finish 3rd. Here’s what we’ll be discussing on tomorrow evening’s #f1chat…

There was drama on the first lap as Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen made contact, flipping Massa. The Brazilian blamed Magnussen, but he claimed he had nowhere to go. The stewards saw it as a racing incident – what did you make of it?

Lewis Hamilton had a disappointing qualifying session on Saturday, crashing out of Q1 when his right-front brake disc failed. A gearbox change saw him start 20th, and he fought his way through to a podium finish. What did you think of his drive? As he made his way through the field, there was an unusual incident with Jenson Button at the hairpin. Lewis said this was his mistake as he thought Button was letting him pass, instead he was running wide and as he made his way back across the track, the two made contact. What did you make of this? What did you make of Jenson’s race weekend? There is talk at the moment that he’s under pressure to perform at McLaren – do you think he’ll be with the team after this season?

Later in the race, Adrian Sutil spun at the final corner and retired from the race, his car left in the middle of the track. It looked like the safety car should’ve been deployed, but it wasn’t – what did you make of this? Was it unsafe and a poor decision to let the marshals push the car off the track under yellows?

Valtteri Bottas scored his third podium in succession – do you think we’ll be seeing him win soon? Williams have now passed Ferrari in the constructors’ standings. Are they becoming the best of the rest after Mercedes this season?

Who was your driver of the day? Overtake of the race?

It has been confirmed Pastor Maldonado will be staying with Lotus next year – what are your thoughts on this news?

Finally, F1 is off to Hungary next weekend for the final race before the summer break – who do you predict will be on pole? Who will win?
