FBC Staff Picks: Belgian GP

3

Apart from all of those drivers and team members who are getting to go on vacations, spend time with their families and friends and basically just chill out, does anyone really enjoy the summer break?! Well, at least there’s just one summer (especially for those of us in Texas). Thanks to a grid penalty for a new lump and lots of other fun power unit related stuff, Lewis Hamilton may be taking a break from winning as the Formula One circus returns to the much loved Spa.

Due to said penalty, all FBC staffers bar one are picking Rosberg to take the victory in Belgium. Tom is the lone holdout, hoping that a clutch win by LewHam will help him claw his way up from the bottom portion of the pack. Given the way that most races have gone as of late, the real question this weekend may be who comes second should Nico win and Hamilton not be able to scythe his way that far through the field. Most of us are still going for a Mercedes One-Two, while Vettel gets three picks to one for Ricciardo. Besides those four protagonists, Kimi and Max each get one nod to step on the podium.

New boy Ocon appears to be taking his predecessor’s place as whipping boy for First Out. Well, along with Palmer and Massa, as all three are getting two picks apiece. Nasr and Alonso area each getting one nod. Poor Fernando appears to be starting the Belgium Grand Prix from somewhere closer to Sazuka than Spa. But regardless of pretty much whatever happens this weekend, I’m sure that we’re all just happy to have something happening this weekend, as long as it’s safe!

Good luck Grace, practice those starts, you know how a first half season lead can evaporate. Hope you’re wrong about first out, poor old Fernando can’t keep on smiling through the pain much longer

I’m going with:
1. Rosberg
2. Ricciardo
3. Hamilton
4. Vettel
5. Verstappen
6. Raikkonen
…..and first out will be Button.

….and a big 19 points for getting the top three right!
