FBC Staff Picks: Belgian GP

6

Not only have we finally come to the end of the long and painful summer break, but we’re rewarded for our patience with what is arguably the greatest track remaining on the F1 calendar; Spa Francorchamps! For the Belgian Grand Prix, six of eight staffers are sticking with Hamilton for the win, with only Todd and Tony choosing Rosberg to take the top step.

Most surprising is that only Todd, Tony and Tom are picking an all Mercedes lockout of the top two spots. The podium predictions are across the board with several variations made with all six of the Mercs, Ferraris and Williams drivers. It seems that four of us believe the Kimster will reward his team’s faith in resigning him by stepping on the podium.

First Out honors are also quite varied. Maldonado and Alonso get two nods each, with Stevens, Sainz, Nasr and Massa getting a single pick each. Whatever happens, result-wise, I’m sure we’ll all just be happy that F1’s back on track. The fact that it’s the best track around is just icing on the cake.

First out Hamilton Hamster

I am expecting rain, did you know it can rain on one part of the track and not the other?

“arguably the greatest track remaining on the F1 calendar; Spa Francorchamps!”

True, Spa is the greatest. But there are still Monza, Suzuka, Singapore, and Interlagos, all great tracks for entirely individual and different reasons. And all largely un-Tilkeized.

Suzuka doesn’t get enough credit IMO.

I think due to some loophole Kimi will place 1st, 2nd and 3rd!
