Though Vettel still leads in the World Driver’s Championship standings and has just one less victory this season, popular consensus in the FBC camp seems to be that the momentum has swung in Lewis Hamilton’s favor. One staffer even suggested that the title hunt may be all but finished already. Whatever the case, five of eight staffers are indeed picking the Brit over the German to take the win in Hungary.
The other three are taking Vettel to even the win tally for the season. All eight staffers podiums are filled with Mercedes, Red Bulls and the lone Ferrari of the championship leader, as Raikkonen fairs no better than fourth in anyone’s picks. The three top teams fill most of our Top Six predictions, while Perez gets one nod and, believe it or not, Alonso gets two! That’s one less than he’s getting for First Out. Lance Stroll gets two picks, while McLaren teammate Vandoorne gets one, as do Ericsson and Palmer. In the FBC standings, Paul still holds a commanding lead over Tony in second, but just ten points separate the next five staffers. Poor J.P., meanwhile, is mired in a seven race scoreless streak. Surely his luck will break soon.
