FBC Staff Picks: Singapore GP

As F1 returns to the spectacular Singapore night race, the F1B staff gets back to playing soothsayer and, from what they’ve seen as of late, their views of the future almost all show a blonde haired flashy guy with lots of high profile friends. For the second race running, Tony is the lone dissenter in not picking Lewis Hamilton to take the victory.

Stepping out of the pit box seems to be his only hope of pulling himself off the second to last row of the grid and, for this round at least, he’s hoping Nico Rosberg is the driver to help his cause. Unlike many of this years races, however, an all-Mercedes one-two finish does not make up the majority of staffers picks. Grace, Paul and Johnpierre all think that Vettel will fill that second spot on the podium, while Andrew foresees Raikkonen taking that spot. Andrew, Dave, J.P. and Tom all seem to think that Maldonado is going to pick up where he left off in the last two races by being the first out. Would anyone really be surprised if he was? How strange that this has been the case for multiple seasons now.

But wait, fellows, you forgot the starting issues… Hamilton will have a terrible start, Rossberg will collide with Ricciardo, Vettel will lose a wheel nut and Kimi will pass them all and go on to win…

Well, maybe not.
