The 2016 Spanish Grand Prix was full of “I didn’t see that coming!” moments. Well, Vettel and Webber probably could have seen what happened on lap one coming. And Jos the Boss probably could have seen what happened at the checkered flag coming. But nobody on the F1B staff saw any of it coming. This was one of those bizarre races which resulted in very little scoring. However, the limited scoring that was done saw six of eight staffers change position. The magic number coming out of Spain appears to be four, as four staffers scored four points apiece.

J.P., Todd and Paul each picked up their four by way of Vettel in 3rd, while Tony got his via Ricciardo in 4th and Sainz in 6th. Johnpierre slipped out of 1st spot following Russia, but moved back into that position this week. Dave, who held it briefly, fell back to 3rd by going scoreless in Spain, with Todd moving up a spot. The top three are now separated by just two points! Tony moved up into a tie with Grace in 4th, a position that they shared after the season opening Australian Grand Prix. Paul clawed himself out of last place, moving three tics clear of Andrew and just one shy of Tom. Monaco in two weeks time will definitely be it’s usual very interesting race, both in the real world and in terms of the F1B Staff Championship.

Yep, that race was way out in left field. As a result, I picked up only 2 points, but that still puts me ahead of JP (45 points).
