Hamilton Saddened At Racial Abuse In Spain

Lewis Hamilton has spoken to the press regarding the racial slurs and banners at the recent test. He is understandably saddened at the response.

My only concern is this:

“The only thing that I have done is to try to give the best of myself and try to win the championship.

“At no point have I tried to deliberately prejudice Fernando but the fight has been very tough and my image in Spain has been severely damaged.”

When he said this:

“Well, he thought he was at the beginning. But I don’t think that should be the case, we should be a team. It should be equal.

“He (Alonso) showed me just how not to behave as an F1 driver.”

These are the type of things that seem easily avoidable from a PR standpoint. I can’t imagine why Spanish fans feel Lewis has been having a go at Fernando lately when these types of comments serve no purpose.
