It what was a real race of attrition, Lewis Hamilton has claimed his first victory of 2008.

With only seven cars finishing the race, the most notable moments were both Ferrari’s failing to finish, Both Williams in the points, BMW in 2nd, both Toyota’s failing to finish after such a promising qualifying performance, Both Red Bull cars out, Fernando Alonso driving if possessed and claiming 4th with an otherwise pig of a car, Kovalainen getting scuttled by the Safety Car in a bid for 2nd, Honda’s Ross Brawn executing a brilliant strategy to be scuppered by Rubens exiting pits under red light conditions, both Scuderia Toro Rosso cars failing to finish after Le Seb had sucha brilliant first race running in 4th and Nelson Piquet failing having a very difficult weekend that should only provide motivation next week.
All that being said; it was nothing but exciting and great to be back watching F1. If you missed the F1B chat on MSN Messenger; it was a terrific time as usual with great camaraderie and comments all night. Everyone was a blast to watcht eh race with and very funny. Thanks to all the F1B’s who chose to spend the evening with us and make this a special start to a special season for F1B.
