Ron Dennis
In what has become the most talked about issue for the last two weeks, the decision of Ron Dennis to stay on as Team Principle at McLaren this year may be a liability.

While there is no doubt that McLaren are keen to see Ron stay, I am wondering if this will not backfire when the intent is thought to be one of support and consistency in the face of turmoil. Ron, in my opinion, has become a lighting rod for the team and while my opinion mean naught, I think Ron should step down as TP and concentrate on McLaren as CEO. The team to to refocus on the team. On Lewis and Kovy and on racing. Ron’s personal affairs, continued spygate issues and suspect decisions over the last year add more pressure than the team really deserves at this point.

If he stepped down where would we get our news stories from?

You really haven’t thought your position through NC. We don’t want what’s good for McLaren (Well ok Grace maybe does.) we want what is good for copy.

More seriously I can’t imagine Ron having as hard a season off track this year as last. I think things will be ok in F1 for him.

Off track i suppose he could end up in an Italian prison but that seems pretty unlikely. That business and his divorce, may draw his attention away from team management more than usual. But I’m sure the team will get on just fine
