Renault last week said they were looking for a full second in performance improvement but BMW has raised the anty and suggested they only need a half second to be with the top teams.
Now color me reactionary but this seems to be a very measured performance battle when the teams, in winter testing, can determine how much they need to be competitive. We often suggest that winter testing reveals very little due to sandbagging etc but BMW and Renault know exactly where they are competitively and how much they need to gain. Given Dr. Mario’s comments, it seems Renault may be behind BMW again this year. ;)
